Special arrangements for passenger convenience, safety in Jammu Division during the festive season
10/14/2025 6:34:37 PM

early times report

Jammu, Oct 14: Special arrangements have been made at the main stations of the Jammu Division to ensure the convenience and safe travel of passengers during the upcoming festivals. In view of the heavy rush during the festivals, additional measures have been taken to facilitate passenger movement and maintain order at the stations. These are as follows:
First, continuous train announcements are being made at all important stations in the division, including Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Srinagar, etc., to ensure passengers receive accurate information about their trains.
Help desks have been set up at various stations to assist passengers. The primary purpose of these help desks is to provide information, assistance, and prompt resolution to any travel-related issues.
Temporary holding areas have been created at stations to manage crowds. These areas are equipped with drinking water, fans, toilets, and adequate seating.
Additional Railway Protection Force (RPF) and GRP personnel have been deployed to manage passenger traffic on station premises. Special attention is being paid to station entry and exit gates.
Keeping passenger safety in mind, a 24/7 surveillance room has been set up in the Jammu division. This will monitor major stations 24 hours a day, with the primary purpose of responding promptly to any emergency.
Wheelchairs, battery-operated vehicles, and additional ticket counters have been installed at all stations for the convenience of the disabled.
Keeping the festivals in mind, the passenger grievance redressal system, Rail Madad, has been made more effective so that any problems can be resolved promptly. In line with this, special attention is being paid to ensuring punctuality of trains during the festivals in the division.
Special attention is being paid to providing drinking water, food, and cleanliness to passengers at all stations.
As everyone knows, train operations in the division were disrupted some time ago due to heavy rains and waterlogging. However, due to the promptness of senior divisional officials, trains have been operated in phases. Recently, some trains were reinstated in the fifth phase, which is proving to be a better travel option for passengers during the festive season.
Division's Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal, urged passengers to plan their travels as per their convenience, avoid crowding at stations, and adhere to railway regulations while commencing their journeys. Passengers are requested not to carry flammable materials during their journey. The railway administration is taking all necessary steps to ensure passenger convenience.
