JAMMU, Oct 14: In a breakthrough, a police team from Police Station R.S Pura headed by ASI Arun Kumar under the supervision of SHO R S Pura,Inspector R S Parihar successfully apprehended a long-time absconder wanted in an POCSO case.
The accused had been evading his arrest for years, but persistent efforts by the police led to his capture, ensuring that justice is served.
The accused * Mohd Yaqoob @ Yaqoob Ali S/O Sher Ali Caste Gujjar R/O Sher Tamber Barnoti Tehsil & District Kathua* A/P Barnoti Tehsil & District Kathua* was wanted in case FIR No.68/2023 under section 363/376/109 IPC 3/4/16/17 POCSO Act of P/S R.S Pura. * Due to his prolonged evasion, the *Hon'ble Fast Track Court (Rape & POCSO cases) Jammu had issued a warrant under Section 299 CrPC against him.
Acting on intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance, a dedicated Police team from Police Station R.S Pura launched a strategic operation to track and apprehend the absconder. After careful planning and execution, the Police Team of P/S R.S Pura successfully arrested him, bringing an end to his long period of evasion.
Following his arrest, the accused produced before the Hon'ble Fast Track Court (Rape & Pocso cases) Jammu.
