| CM has no time for Gujjars: JMCC | | | Early Times Report Jammu | Tuesday, May 12 - Terming demolition of kullahs (temporary houses as a part of well planned conspiracy, the Jammu Muslim Coordination Committee (JMCC) today blamed it on the land mafia-police and state administration nexus playing hand in glove. It is a conspiracy under which the state administration, along with the land mafia supported by the police, is trying to vacate the land from the Gujjars, Prof Zahoor-ud-Din, chairman JMCC told reporters at a press conference here this afternoon. Meanwhile, blaming Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah for not visiting the site of incident even once, Prof Zahoor said, if Omar can afford vacation in Himachal Pradesh the why he cannot spare a day-long visit to village Karnaila Chak where the Gujjars were attacked and rendered homeless by setting their hutments ablaze. He also alleged role of Rashtritya Swayam Sevaks (RSS) in flaring up the communal divide among the people adding that the entire plan enacted to clear off the Gujjar families residing over the state land was done under well hatched conspiracy. One of the members of the Committee alleged that police acted on the dictates of the RSS and deliberately ignored the emergency calls to avoid on the spot action. Over six police personnel, including senior officers, were injured in stone pelting when Gujjars entered into a clash with the police party and the forest officials visited there on May 8 to vacate 10 ha of Social Forestry Land (community land).
