One Year Achievements of Omar Govt despite obstructions by Centre, LG Admin: Rattan Lal

JAMMU, Oct 14: Senior leader and Provincial President Jammu JKNC, Rattan Lal Gupta said that the Omar Abdullah-led Government has successfully completed one year of dedicated service to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, marking a period of unprecedented progress and people-oriented governance. It is Omar led Government, not the L.G. administration, has truly restored democracy and development in Jammu and Kashmir that has brought back the spirit of democratic governance and people's participation after years of bureaucratic misrule.
In a Press Statement issued at Sher-e- Kashmir Bhavan, Jammu, Mr Gupta highlighted the achievements of Omar Abdullah Government has initiated numerous developmental projects and welfare schemes across almost every department - including Roads & Buildings, Jal Shakti, Irrigation & Flood Control, Health, Forest, Education, Higher Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, and Power Development despite deliberate obstructions by Centre and LG Administration. Significant functioning improvements have also been made in the Revenue, Food & Supplies, Cooperatives, and Sports Departments, ensuring that development reaches every section of society. All these initiatives are being implemented in line with the Budget passed by the J&K Legislative Assembly, reflecting the people's mandate and aspirations, he added.
Gupta said that Omar led Government has fulfilled promises made in its election manifesto:-exemption of stamp duty for transfer of property by way of Gifts within blood relations, free public transport for women in Govt E buses, enhancement of financial assistance under the Girls marriage assistance scheme from Rs 50,000 to Rs 75000 for AAY Category, Free 200 unit electricity per month for AAY families, enhancement of Old age Pension/ Handicapped Pension/ Widow Pension from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 below 80 years and Rs 2000 to aged more 8o years and above, enhancement of free ration from 5 Kg to 10 Kg per person per families of AAY, Thousands of Unemployed youth benefitted under Mission Youth, Self - Employment Schemes and several recruitment process in different Government departments have started by the JKSSB and JKPSC.
The first year of the Omar Abdullah-Led Government stands as a testament of resilience, development, and democracy against all odds including Militant attack at Pahalgam where 26 precious lives were lost , Operation Sindoor where entire border belt of Districts Poonch, Rajouri Jammu, Samba and Kathua were disturbed and heavy losses of precious lives and property, Cloudburst in Machail Mata and Mata Vashino Devi Ji where heavy and precious lives were lost due to heavy rains and landslides the National Highway was badly damaged and closed for more than one month due to which farmers and fruit growers suffered heavy losses. The National Conference firmly believes that true progress can only be achieved when Statehood is fully restored. The Centre must therefore honour its commitment and return the constitutional rights to the people of Jammu and Kashmir without further delay. The National Conference remains steadfast in its mission- development, dignity, and democracy for every citizen, Mr Gupta.
