| Dy CM releases Dogri novel ‘Chetna’ | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 112– Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand released a Dogri novel ‘Chetna’ authored by Tara Danpuri in a simple function here this evening.
Lauding the contribution of the author, Deputy Chief Minister said that the author has worked tirelessly for promoting Dogri language and this is his second Dogri novel. He said that writer is a known figure in literary circles and has carved a niche for himself in writing Dogri fiction.
Tara Chand said that such efforts by Dogri writers needs encouragement as even after getting itself enlisted in the Eighth Schedule, Dogri has not caught on the imagination of young writers as well as readers. He called upon the youth to develop love for their mother tongue and come out in a big way to promote the language.
Tara Danpuri has also authored ‘Kai Janam’, a collection of Dogri short stories and ‘Jeewan Dan’, a Dogri novel. He has also a Dogri translation of Bangla novel to his credit.
