Chandigarh, Oct 15: The Youth Welfare Committee, Cultural Affairs Committee, Student Welfare Committee, and NSS Units of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women jointly organised a vibrant Diwali Fest that radiated festive joy and entrepreneurial spirit. Hon'ble Mayor of Chandigarh Mrs. Harpreet Kaur Babla inaugurated the fest. The fest featured an array of over 80 stalls set up by women entrepreneurs, showcasing food, accessories, clothing, paintings, home decor items, and more. The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of the Best Women Entrepreneur Award, recognising outstanding entrepreneurial talent. Adding to the festivity were fun games, an open mic, a lively DJ evening, and engaging activities that enthralled students and visitors alike. A special attraction was the presence of RJ Meenakshi, who captivated the audience with her charisma. Mr. Pardeep Kumar, IAS Hon'ble Special Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh graced the fest as Chief Guest for Prize Distribution Ceremony. Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the efforts of all organising committees for successfully blending festivity with social awareness. Ms. Sharma remarked that such initiatives not only nurture entrepreneurial talent among young women but also reinforce the college’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and community engagement. |
