YCET, Jammu organises Session on “Entrepreneurship: The Drive to Shape Your Future”

Jammu, Oct 15: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET), Jammu, under the aegis of the JGEI Group, successfully organized an enlightening session on the topic “Entrepreneurship: The Drive to Shape Your Future”.
The session aimed to encourage students to explore innovative ideas and develop entrepreneurial skills essential for future growth and self-reliance. The guest speaker for the event was Dr. Sanjay Mohan, Chief Executive Officer, SMVDU–Technology Business Incubation Centre, who delivered an engaging and motivational session highlighting the importance of creativity, risk-taking, and persistence in entrepreneurship.
The event began with a welcome address by Er. Lovneesh Talwar, Head of Department, Electrical Engineering, who warmly welcomed the esteemed guest and emphasized that such initiatives play a vital role in shaping students’ professional and personal development.
In his interactive session, Dr. Mohan emphasized that entrepreneurship is not merely about starting a business—it is about identifying opportunities, solving real-world problems, and creating value for society.
Dr. Mohan also shared insights into India’s evolving startup ecosystem, the role of academic incubation centers, and the various government initiatives that support young entrepreneurs, such as the Startup India Mission and J&K YUVA Scheme. He spoke about the pivotal role of SMVDU-TBIC in providing mentorship, seed funding, and networking opportunities to emerging startups in Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Sanjay Mohan stated, “Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business—it’s about creating value, solving problems, and leading change.
The session was highly interactive and insightful, inspiring students to think beyond conventional career paths and to pursue innovation-driven opportunities.
The session concluded with a Q&A interaction, where students discussed their ideas and sought guidance on funding, business planning, and team building. Dr. Mohan encouraged them to embrace creativity, learn from failures, and continuously innovate to shape their own futures.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Er.Rajneesh Magotra, HoD Civil Department he appreciating Dr. Sanjay Mohan for his valuable insights and motivational words. Special thanks were extended to the YCET Management, Dean, faculty members, and the coordination committee for their continuous support and efforts in ensuring the successful organization of the event.
