Ramgarh, Oct 15: An Awareness Programme on Cyber Security was organized by Consumer Advocacy Groups registered with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in collaboration with the Internal Committee (Cyber Security) of GDC Ramgarh. The programme was held under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Meeru Abrol, Principal of the college, and was coordinated by Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Head, Department of Education.The welcome address was given by Mr. Ashok Kumar (PTI). The resource person, Mr. Ashok Kumar, General Secretary of Helpage Social Welfare Society, Jammu, inaugurated the session and delivered an informative presentation on various aspects of cybercrime and cyber safety. He highlighted the importance of being aware and vigilant while using digital platforms and shared the toll-free helpline numbers where individuals can report cyber frauds and related issues. He also briefed the participants about the Helpage Social Welfare Society (380/6, Transport Nagar, Jammu), which is registered with TRAI, New Delhi, as a Consumer Advocacy Group for the Jammu and Kashmir Telecom Circle. The society acts as the Appellate Authority for telecom service providers such as BSNL, Bharti Airtel Ltd., and Vodafone Idea Ltd. Representatives from the above service providers also participated in the programme, interacting with students and staff regarding safe digital practices and consumer rights. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Brham Dutt, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing committee and the resource persons for conducting a meaningful and awareness-oriented session.
