| New guest ‘DANNY” arrived in Manda Wild life Sanctuary | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 12- Saved from Samba jungles and brought to Jammu, one year old leopard has kept all employees of the Wild life Sanctuary at Manda on toes. The naughty leopard has been named as ‘Danny’. Reports said that the leopard ‘Danny’ was saved from the dogs in Samba Jungles by the locals who later informed the police and wild life department, the one year old leopard was then shifted to Jammu wild life sanctuary for care. A medical check-up on’ Danny’ was carried by a specialist Dr Kumar who did not found any injury on the body of the guest leopard. “The leopard needs care for about one month however no injury was found on his body” the doctor was reported to have said after the medical examination. He advised the employees of sanctuary to keep the leopard baby in a separate room for a month and later be sent to jungles. It is pertinent to mention here that in August 2005 two leopard babies were brought from Poonch to Jammu and were named as Sonu and Mono, later both the leopard were shifted to Kashmir wild life sanctuary. But due to the change of climate both of the leopards died and could not be saved. Again in February 2006, two more leopards were saved and brought from the Palasa Jungles of Ramnagar to Jammu and got the names like Bunty and Babli. This time the department did not repeat the mistake what they did in case of Sonu and Monu but keep the both Bunty and Babli under observation for some time and left them free in Jungles again. Wild life warden of Manda Sanctuary said that the leopard would be kept under observation for a month and later will be sent back to his Home Jungle. The new guest’s arrival has kept all the employees on toes as it is very naughty.
