Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 15: Commemorating the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and in celebration of Innovation Day, IGNOU Regional Centre Jammu hosted a special webinar on the theme "Problem Solving, Ideation, and Innovation" today. The special virtual event was designed to equip professionals, students, alumni, and aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools and mindsets necessary to foster creative problem-solving and drive meaningful innovation. IGNOU under the aegis of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell (MIC) is actively engaged in fostering its students and alumni towards Atmanirbhar Bharat through promoting, supporting and nurturing the innovator students and alumni of IGNOU interested in setting up their own start-ups. In this context, IGNOU-RC Jammu in collaboration with with RC -Srinagar, RC-Karnal, RC-Khanna, RC-Shimla and RC- Chandigarh had invited its students and alumni to register for a well-structured Pre-Incubation Training Programme and Ideathon-2025 designed to help them progress on their entrepreneurial journey. The webinar featured renowned guest speakers Dr. Dipan Kumar Sahu, Assistant Innovation Director, Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, AICTE, New Delhi, Shri Shantmanu, Financial Commissioner, Additional Chief Secretary, Higher Education Department, Govt. of J&K, and Dr. Jyotsna Dixit, Director NCIDE who shared their expertise and provided real-world insights into building a culture of innovation. A number of students, Alumni, representatives from New Delhi Headquarters, and representatives from the collaborating Regional Centres- Srinagar, Khanna, Karnal, Shimla and Chandigarh participated in the webinar. The lecture by Dr. Bipan Sahu delved into the theme "Problem Solving, Ideation, and Innovation" and attendees gained insights into new ways of creative thinking and problem-solving. The online format encouraged the accessibility for a broad audience of students, alumni, professionals, entrepreneurs to participate from anywhere and witnessed mass participation. Dr. Sahu emphasized that human creativity and innovation are the true wealth of nations in the 21st century and that individual and collaborative creativity are key to progress.
