A G Mir, IPS reviews operational capabilities of SDRF Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 15: A G Mir, IPS, Commandant General HG/CD & SDRF Jammu and Kashmir, visited the SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu today. He was accompanied by Sh. Mohammad Arshad-JKPS, DIG HG/CD & SDRF Jammu. During his visit, Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn. Jammu, presented a detailed presentation on the achievements of SDRF 2nd Bn. in recent disasters that occurred in Jammu province, including Chishoti (Kishtwar), Ramban, Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Katra, Kathua, low-lying areas of Jammu, Kalaban, Poonch and Rajouri.
It was brought to the notice of the visiting officer that SDRF 2nd Bn. is facing difficulties in its operational efficiency due to shortage of High Value equipments, adequate Transport facility and deficiency of manpower. DIG Mohammad Arshad, JKPS highlighted the role of HG and CD and the challenges faced by them. The Commandant General paid a patient hearing to the briefings and appreciated the role of SDRF personnel in mitigating disasters with quick response, which helped save lives.
A display of high-value equipment and articles used by SDRF Jammu was also arranged, showcasing the capabilities and achievements of SDRF. The Commandant General took keen interest in understanding the working of CD/HG & SDRF, assuring all ranks that he would look into the matters being faced by them and take up the issues with higher authorities.
