Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 16: In a major step towards strengthening urban infrastructure and promoting eco-friendly development, MLA Bahu Ch. Vikram Randhawa today inaugurated the construction work of end-to-end pavement and development of a modern green space at Firdousabad, Sunjwan (Ward No. 74). The ambitious project, with a total estimated cost of ?1.90 crore, is being executed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) - an initiative dedicated to improving environmental standards, air quality, and public spaces across Jammu. The event witnessed the presence of SE (JMC) Firdous Ahmed Qazi, XEN Lokesh Gupta, AEE Rafiq Malik, and JE Iftikhar Hussain, along with Surjeet Singh (Mandal President), Ajay Sharma, Pankaj Bral, Gulshan Sharma, Raman, Anwar, Rafiq, Sajan, Farmaan, Soudagar, Amit, Tarun, Gulam Rasool, and several other prominent dignitaries and residents of the locality. While addressing the gathering, MLA Ch. Vikram Randhawa said that the project marks another milestone in the constituency's journey towards cleaner, greener, and well-planned urban living. He emphasized that the aim is not only to lay pavements or create parks but to develop sustainable public spaces that contribute to better air quality and community well-being. He further stated, "This initiative reflects our vision to make Bahu a model constituency - clean, green, and progressive. Development must reach every household, every street, and every individual, ensuring both comfort and environmental balance." MLA Randhawa also appreciated the efforts of the JMC engineering team for their continuous work in executing public-oriented projects under NCAP. He directed the officials to maintain strict quality standards and ensure timely completion of the work without any compromise.
