Reasi police organizes educational visit for DPS students | | | Early Times Report REASI, Oct 16: In a remarkable initiative aimed at fostering awareness and understanding among young minds, District Police Reasi today organized an educational visit at Police Station Katra, which was attended by around 190 students from Delhi Public School. The visit served as an interactive learning experience, offering students a rare opportunity to witness the inner workings of the police system and understand the vital role law enforcement plays in maintaining peace and security. During the session, SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey-JKPS and SHO P/S Katra Inspr. Khyatimaan Khajuria briefed the students on various aspects of police functioning, including: Police Station Operations: Students were acquainted with the administrative setup, record-keeping, and day-to-day functioning of the police station. Equipment and Weaponry: Demonstrations were conducted to familiarize students with the tools, communication devices, and weaponry used by law enforcement personnel. Surveillance Technology: The team explained the working of the CCTV surveillance system that helps police ensure the safety and security of Katra town, especially during peak pilgrim seasons. Community Policing & Law and Order: Officers highlighted the importance of police-public cooperation in maintaining harmony and preventing crime. Awareness on Drug Abuse & Cyber Crimes: A special awareness session sensitized students about the dangers of drug addiction and cyber threats, urging them to act responsibly both offline and online. The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students enthusiastically asked questions and expressed appreciation for the police force's efforts. Speaking on the occasion, SSP Reasi Sh. Paramvir Singh-JKPS emphasized that such educational visits not only bridge the gap between the police and the public but also inspire students to become responsible and law-abiding citizens. The initiative reflects District Police Reasi's commitment towards community engagement, youth awareness and trust-building through proactive outreach programmes. |
