Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 18: NCC cadets from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra, brought laurels to the University by actively participating in the Idea Invitation Competition organized by the Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh NCC Directorate. The event aimed to provide a platform for NCC cadets to present innovative and practical solutions addressing social, environmental, and national development challenges. The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from cadets representing various units and institutions under the Directorate. Each cadet was encouraged to present unique ideas that could contribute meaningfully to areas such as defence technology, environmental conservation, community development, and nation-building. The event served as a platform to nurture creativity, leadership, and analytical thinking among young NCC cadets. Dr. Varun Dutta, NCC Coordinator, SMVDU, was nominated by the NCC Directorate as a member of the panel of judges. The judging panel comprised senior officers from the Indian Army, who evaluated the cadets' presentations on parameters such as innovation, feasibility, societal impact, and originality. The SMVDU cadets were widely appreciated by the jury for their thought-provoking and innovative ideas, which reflected their keen understanding of real-world issues and their commitment to finding practical solutions. Prof. Pragati Kumar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor and Ajay Kumar Sharma, Registrar, SMVDU congratulated the cadets for their excellent participation and for representing the University with distinction. They appreciated the efforts of NCC Unit of SMVDU for consistently encouraging students to engage in value-based and nation-building activities. |
