| DAV celebrates Diwali with fervor and enthusiasm | | |  AMRITSAR, Oct 18: The festival of lights was celebrated with pomp and enthusiasm at DAV College, Amritsar. The Department of Mass Communication and Video Production and the Department of Biotechnology jointly celebrated Deep Parva. Prof. Sandeep Kumar, co ordinator Mcvp and Dr. Vikas Gupta, Head Biotechnology welcomed Principal Dr Amardeep Gupta.
The principal Dr Gupta encouraged everyone to celebrate Green Diwali. He said that the purpose of celebrating Green Diwali is mainly to prevent air pollution due to firecrackers.
He opined that students should celebrate Green Diwali, while being aware of the pollution caused by firecrackers. Everyone should take care of the environment while celebrating the festival. A ceremony of lighting of lamp was organised for the staff members in the department of MCVP. The venue was decorated in a picturesque manner with handmade decoration by the students of the College using eco-friendly material. A beautiful floral rangoli decoration along with diyas, highlighting the Diwali theme, was also done by the students of the College. Dr Gupta lit the lamp followed by the celebration of Diwali festival. Staff members also brought in Diwali themed snacks to share with each other as a part of the celebration. |
