DIG JSK range conducted security review, operational preparedness, border management meeting in Kathua | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 18: In a significant move aimed at strengthening border management and inter-agency co-ordination,On 18.10.2025 The Dy. Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range (JSK) Range, Sh. Shiv Kumar Sharma-IPS held a comprehensive visit of District Kathua and Operational preparedness meeting was also held with SSP Kathua Mohita IPS , SP ops Mukund IPS, SP ops Amir Billawar,ASP Kathua Rahul , SDPO Border ,Sdpo Billawar, basholi, Kathua, in the meeting security review also discussed as per present security scenario and Forthcoming Festivals. During his security review he met with Police officials, VDG members in sensitive area and discuss various security related issues and imparted necessary directions regarding establish joint nakas for better results. The DIG was briefed comprehensively by the Police officials on border security grid, with specific focus on vulnerabilities, surveillance infrastructure, JKP coordination with other security agencies and preparedness of ground units to respond to any cross-border threat. The visit also aimed at assessing the terrain, visibility advantage, and layout of defensive positions in the forward area. During security check, he also visited in Border Police Posts and directed the Incharge Police Post officials for redressal of Public grievances in a time bound manner and briefed the nafri for their sensitivity of duty and they were directed to remain extra vigilant on their points. Moreover all the officers were directed to strengthening all the nakas especially during night hours and keep watch on Anti-social and Anti-nattional Elements who crossed the nakas especially during late night and wee hours. General Public in these areas are also requested to give timely information to Police. Meeting with BSF officers in Tapan BOP post Hiranagar DIG Shiv Kumar met with officers and jawans at Tapan Londi More BOP post in Hiranagar, He also shared Diwali Sweets with BSF Jawans and officers at Tapan BOP . During the field inspection, the DIG Shiv Kumar emphasized upon the importance of inter-agency synergy, real-time intelligence sharing, and technology-enabled surveillance to secure sensitive zones of district Kathua, abd District Samba, which have historically been prone to cross-border attempts by terrorist groups and smuggling networks. |
