Kishtwar, Oct 22: District Police Kishtwar solemnly observed National Police Commemoration Day at District Police Lines, paying tribute to the brave personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. SSP Kishtwar, Sh. Naresh Singh-JKPS, led the ceremony, emphasizing patriotism, discipline, and dedication in his address. He paid homage to the martyrs, highlighting their role in upholding the nation’s unity and sovereignty. A ceremonial parade featured contingents from the District Police, IRP 22nd Battalion, CRPF, CISF, and the District Police Band. The names of fallen heroes were read out, followed by wreath-laying at the Martyrs’ Memorial. In a gesture of solidarity, SSP Kishtwar and officers interacted with the martyrs’ families, served them lunch, listened to their concerns, and assured prompt redressal. Welfare items and gifts were also distributed as a mark of respect. The event was attended by the Army Commander 05 Sec Brig Sh. JBS Rathi and officers from (11 RR, 17 RR, 7 Assam Rifles), CRPF, CISF, retired police officers, civil administration, and families of the martyrs. The day concluded with a vote of thanks and a reaffirmation of the police force’s commitment to honouring the legacy of its fallen heroes.
