Jammu, Oct 22: A Yoga Seminar was successfully organized at Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar (Opposite RBI Regional Office), receiving an enthusiastic response from yoga enthusiasts and local residents. The programme was held under the supervision of Sh. Ravi Sharma, President, Ranbeer District Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, and Sh. Suresh Gupta, District Secretary. Dr. Shreyansh Kumar Jain, State Yoga Commissioner (J&K) and Chairman, Indian Yoga Association (J&K), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and Key Speaker. The event commenced with a warm welcome by Sh. Suresh Gupta, who invited Dr. Jain to share his vast knowledge on yoga and its relevance to modern lifestyle disorders and common ailments. Dr. Jain conducted practical sessions on Yogasanas and Pranayamas, demonstrating their role in achieving physical fitness, emotional balance, and mental peace. He also shared valuable naturopathy-based health tips, emphasizing the importance of living in harmony with nature, taking food as medicine, adopting water, sun, and mud therapies, ensuring sound sleep, periodic fasting, and cultivating gratitude while avoiding negativity. While addressing the gathering, Dr. Jain advised participants to adopt simple yet powerful habits for holistic well-being. He recommended waking up early, drinking lukewarm water with lemon to detoxify the body, and performing daily breathing exercises such as Anulom Vilom and Bhramari to calm the mind and strengthen the lungs. Regular Yogasanas or brisk walking in the open air, he said, enhance circulation and flexibility. He urged everyone to eat a balanced, natural diet rich in seasonal fruits and vegetables while minimizing the intake of salt, sugar, and refined oils. Dr. Jain further highlighted the healing value of water, sun, and mud therapies, explaining that water purifies the body, sunlight strengthens immunity and provides Vitamin D, while mud packs help in cooling the body and improving digestion. For common ailments, Dr. Jain suggested natural management techniques—warm water with isabgol or flax seeds for constipation, deep breathing and Shavasana for blood pressure, and Mandukasana and walking after meals for diabetes control. To overcome anxiety and insomnia, he advised reducing mobile use before sleep, taking deep breaths, and listening to soothing music or chanting “Om.” Above all, he emphasized maintaining a cheerful disposition, expressing gratitude, and serving others, as positivity and kindness work as the greatest natural healers. In his concluding remarks, Dr. Jain provided detailed guidance on managing blood pressure and abdominal health, especially constipation, through a blend of yogic techniques, naturopathy, homemade remedies, clapping yoga, and acupressure therapy.
