Early Times Report DODA, Oct 22: Police Commemoration Day was observed with solemnity and reverence at District Police Lines (DPL), Doda to pay homage to the brave martyrs of the police forces who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty while safeguarding the sovereignty, integrity, and security of the nation. On this occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police Doda, Shri Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), read out the names of the martyrs to honour their selfless sacrifices. Floral tributes were offered to commemorate their valour, courage, and unwavering dedication to maintaining peace and harmony. While addressing the gathering, SSP Doda urged all officers and jawans to imbibe the spirit of patriotism, nationalism, and selfless service, and to continue serving the nation with dedication, honesty, and enthusiasm for its dignity and prosperity. A Commemoration Parade was held to mark the occasion, with contingents from the District Police, IRP 5th Battalion, IRP Women 1st Battalion, and the District Police Band participating. The parade was commanded by DySP Aeshal Nissar. The event witnessed the presence of a large number of officers from the Police and Civil Administration, as well as prominent citizens, who joined the wreath-laying ceremony to pay tribute to the brave hearts. During the programme, heartfelt tributes were paid to 32 police and security personnel from the district who made the ultimate sacrifice. The gathering also observed a two-minute silence in remembrance of their valour and selfless service. Special invitees included the families of police martyrs of District Doda, who also paid floral tributes. An interaction session was held with the martyr families by SSP Doda Shri Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), along with CO Army, ADC Doda, Addl. SP Bhaderwah, Addl. SP Headquarters Doda, DySP Headquarters Doda, DySP DAR Doda, and ACR Doda to enquire about their well-being and address their concerns. As a gesture of respect and gratitude, gifts were distributed among the families of martyrs by the District Police Administration. Officers from the District Police Doda, Armed Police, and CRPF were also present on the occasion. |
