BLSKS celebrates Vishwakarma Pooja with enthusiasm

JAMMU, Oct 22: To celebrate the Vishwakarma Day & promote the traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan performed in it's musical play "Vishwakarma" today in collaboration with Sangam tru art production at Durga Bhawan, disco more, Janipur Jammu. The Play was written and Directed by Dr. M.L. Dogra, renowned writer and director, former Regional director of song and drama division. ministry of information broadcasting, Government of India. The program was inaugurated by V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director of Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India as chief guest. J.K. Raina, Freelancer Producer Director TV, Mukesh Singh, Media Person Jammu were the Guest of Honor.The Programe was commenced with the sanskrit famous Shlok "Om Adhar Shaptey Namho Aur Om Kumeyo Namho Om Ananatam Namho Om Prithviye Namho" & songs were "Vishwakarma Teri Jai Ho - Vishwakarma Teri Jai Ho", "Ayo ayo Sab Jawano Majzoor Kasbi te kasano ", "Mahare Thadre Loke de Khuliye nasib ji thona Rozgar Sabe Nai Hona Koi Garib ji". The programmed was concluded with the Vishwakarma ji Arti "Hum sab utare teri arti vishwakarma ji.” The music of the play composed by Master Sanjay Kumar Pashi, renowned music composer & guitarist. The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness colorful programmes & wishing you all happy Vishwakarma Puja with divine blessings and prosperit. Vishwakarma Day is celebrated in some regions after Diwali because the timing of the festival varies depending on local traditions and calendars. While traditionally observed in September (Bhadra month), it is celebrated on the day after Diwali, which is also considered the fourth day of Diwali celebrations and falls before Bhaiya Dooj.
Earlier welcoming the audience Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, through the light on Vishwakishwa karma day is a day of celebration for Vishwakarma, a Hindu god, the divine architect and one of the fourteen precious thing born of the Sumudra Manthan. He constructed the holy city of Dwarka where Krishna ruled, the Maya sabha of the Pandavas, and was the creator of many fabulous weapons for the gods. He is also called the divine Carpenter, is mentioned in Ring Veda, and is credited with Sthapatya veda, the science of mechanics statues and pictures of Vishwakarma are normally installed in every workplace and factory. All workers gather in one common place and perform the puja (reverence) Vishwakarma puja is also celebrated a day after Diwali , along with Govardhan puja. This ritual usually takes place within the factory premises or shop floor, and the otherwise mundane workshops come alive with fiesta. Vishwakarma Puja is also associated with the buoyant custom of flying kites. This occasion in a way also marks the start of the festive season that culminates in Diwali.
Besides above singers, musician, actors, students & participated in the programme are M C Kotwal, Zulekha Bano, Shivani Chadha, Naiya Digra, Poli Devi , Rajeev Salotra presented the enthralled performance & the coordinator of the programe Master Deepak Kumar Dogra presented vote of thanks.
