Crackdown on illegal mining, 07 vehicles seized

JAMMU, Oct 23: Continuing its special drive against illegal mining, Jammu Police seized seven vehicles involved in the transportation of illegally mined material in the jurisdictions of Police Station Kanachak, Police Station Domana, Police Station Jhajjar Kotli, Police Post Pouni Chak, Police Post Sidhra, and Police Post Jourian of Rural Zone Jammu.
Details of the seized vehicles are as under:
Police Station Kanachak

Police Station Domana

Police Station Jhajjar Kotli

All the above-mentioned vehicles were found engaged in illegal mining activities, thereby violating the provisions of the mining laws. The concerned District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu, was accordingly informed for initiating necessary legal action under the relevant rules and regulations.
Jammu Police has reaffirmed its commitment to act tough against illegal mining and warned that such drives shall continue with greater intensity in the future. Police has further urged the public to extend cooperation in protecting natural resources and the environment by promptly reporting any incidents of illegal mining activities.
