Early Times Report DODA, Oct 24: Tightening its noose against the menace of drug trafficking, Doda Police apprehended a notorious drug peddler and recovered a heroin-like (chitta) narcotic substance from his possession at Doda. On the directions of SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta (JKPS), a naka was established at Ghat Road near Naka Point Ghat, Doda, led by SHO Doda, Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday, under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Sh. Ajay Anand. During the naka checking, a Swift car bearing registration number JK19-3900, coming from Ghat towards Doda city, was intercepted. The driver was identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed S/o Abdul Hamid Sheikh R/o Tondwa, Doda. During questioning, the driver exhibited suspicious behavior, and upon personal search conducted in the presence of police officials, a white polythene packet containing heroin-like (chitta) substance weighing approximately ¾ grams was recovered from his possession. In this connection, a case FIR No. 237/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Doda, and investigation has been set in motion to trace the source and supply network of the contraband. Doda Police reiterates its firm commitment to eliminate the drug menace from society and appeals to the general public, particularly the youth, to stay away from drugs and share any information related to narcotics smuggling for stringent action against drug peddlers.
