NR operates 28 Special Trains today from Delhi area, welcomes Chhath travelers with the soulful sounds of Bihar

NEW DELHI, Oct 24: Indian Railways is running over 12,000 special trains nationwide to manage the massive passenger rush during the festival season. Continuing this massive effort, the Northern Railway's Delhi Division successfully operated 28 Special Trains today from the Delhi area, following the 30 Special Trains run yesterday. This deployment is focused on ensuring Chhath devotees reach their homes safely and comfortably. Today's operation saw Special trains departure from:
oNew Delhi: 8 Special Trains + 1 Unscheduled Train on Demand
oAnand Vihar Terminal: 7 Special Trains
oShakurBasti: 5 Special Trains
oDelhi Junction: 3 Special Trains
oHazrat Nizamuddin: 2 Special Trains
oShamli: 1 Special Train
oRohtak: 1 Special Train
These special services are running to major destinations to accommodate the surge in travelers.
A Unique Cultural Welcome at Stations
In a unique and heartwarming initiative, major railway stations like New Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Nizamuddin and Ghaziabad in Delhi area are playing traditional Bhojpuri Chhath songs over the station announcement systems. The festival of Chhath, the great festival of folk faith, is incomplete without its melodious folk songs. This initiative is to enhance the travel experience and connect devotees with the rich cultural essence of Bihar. As trains arrive at stations, passengers are greeted by these familiar tunes, instantly transforming the station's atmosphere and connecting travelers with the spirit of the festival.
Travelers Applaud Railway's Arrangements
Passengers expressed their appreciation for the elaborate arrangements and the cultural welcome:
Kusum Devi, a passenger traveling from New Delhi to Abhaypur in Bihar, remarked, "It feels great when Chhath song music struck my ear, it is a memorable experience. Indian Railways arrangements are excellent this time."
Kumari Shobha, a traveler for Siwan, stated, "Chhath festival is close to our heart, it has special significance for Biharis. I am thankful to Indian Railways for such nice arrangements this time."
Sandeep Kumar Singh, another traveler for Siwan, highlighted the operational efficiency, saying, "Elaborate arrangements have been done by Railways like ticketing, cleanliness, mobile toilets, queue system, extra ticket counters. This time Railways has made our Chhath special."
