Sadhotra hails Rajya Sabha poll victory as triumph of NC's principled politics

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 24: National Conference Additional General Secretary, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, today hailed the grand victory of National Confidence in the Rajya Sabha elections, describing it as the triumph of the people of Jammu and Kashmir under the visionary leadership of party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah.
In a statement, Sadhotra said the resounding victory in the Rajya Sabha polls is a clear reflection of the principled politics of the National Conference that stands for peace, progress, and dignity of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Sadhotra, however, lamented that the National Conference would have secured the fourth seat as well, but for the political treachery and manipulative tactics employed by the BJP.
"The BJP, having sensed its humiliating defeat, resorted to horse-trading and other unethical practices to subvert the democratic process," he said, adding that such conduct stands as a blot on democratic values and exposes the party's true character before the people of the country.
He said that the BJP's desperation to sabotage the poll process shows its disregard for the democratic ethos that forms the foundation of the nation.
"The National Conference has always upheld the highest democratic standards, and our victory in the Rajya Sabha elections is a testimony to our transparent and principled politics," Sadhotra said. While expressing gratitude to all legislators and supporters for their steadfast loyalty to the party's ideals, Sadhotra congratulated Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Sajad Ahmad Kitchloo, and S. Shami Oberoi for their splendid victory. He described them as worthy representatives who will raise the voice of Jammu and Kashmir with conviction and commitment in the Rajya Sabha.
Lauding the leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Sadhotra said the National Conference remains committed to the vision of empowering the people, strengthening unity, and ensuring inclusive development across all regions of the Union Territory.
