Nubra, Oct 24: Administrative Secretary of Tourism & Culture, Housing & Urban Development Department and Information & Public Relations UT Ladakh, Sanjit Rodrigues IAS, is on a three-day tour of Nubra to review the progress of ongoing development projects and assess tourism infrastructure requirements in the region. On the first day of his tour, he visited several key sites including the Border Block Library, Diskit, where he reviewed the ongoing development works. He also inspected the park with solar lighting at Diskit Photang, which includes a footpath, improved parking area, public gathering space, and water channel around the monastery and visited the Museam of Diskit Monastary , he visited the under construction Tourist Facilitation Centre and the solarized cafeteria cum public convenience and guest room at Siachen Base Camp. He also also inspected the Silk Route Museum at Yarma Gonbo Monastery, Tourist Pilgrimage Gathering Hall at Kobet Gompa and the upgradation works at the Panamik Hot Spring. In addition, he reviewed the facility improvements at Samstanling Monastery, Sumoor as well as the development of the camel shed at Hunder Sand Dunes and the hiker hut at Sumoor, emphasizing timely completion and quality of all ongoing works. During the visit, he was accompanied by Assistant Director Tourism Leh, Padma Angmo, JKAS; Deputy Director, Archives, Archaeology and Museums, UT Ladakh, Khadim Hussain; Executive Engineer, Leh Development Authority, Imran; Executive Engineer, PWD Diskit, Lobzang Yontan; Tehsildar Sumoor Tashi Chostak; Naib Tehsildar, Diskit Habibullah and representatives from other concerned departments.
