Early Times Report HANDWARA, Oct 25: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, visited the Fruit Mandi Handwara to review its functioning and to take stock of issues faced by the traders operating in the Mandi. During the visit, the DC held an interaction with members of the Fruit Mandi Association, led by its President Mohammad Amin, who apprised him of several concerns including the construction of a Kisan shed, a separate passage from the Bypass to the Mandi, and issues related to the hotline electricity supply. He assured the traders that the administration is committed to addressing their grievances and will take necessary steps to upgrade infrastructure and facilities at the Fruit Mandi. Suse emphasized that the Horticulture sector forms the backbone of Kupwara's economy, and district administration is focused on strengthening the horticulture sector and ensuring better support to fruit growers and traders. The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Javid Naseem Masoodi and Tehsildar Handwara, Zeeshan Khan. |
