Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Oct 26: Accession Day of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh was celebrate in a grand manner at Gole Market (near Fountain Chowk) Udhampur. On this occasion more than 100 students from different schools presented skits and patriotic songs. Prominent educationist & President of Jammu & Kashmir Private Schools Association Jammu, Ajay Gupta was the Chief Guest, who narrated the untold history to the students which was hidden and distorted before the abrogation of Article 370. He recalled major contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh, who acceded the state of Jammu & Kashmir to India on October 26, 1947. Gupta also highlighted about the supreme sacrifice of Brigadier Rajinder Singh Jamwal (MVC) who fought with his small contingent of about 122 men delayed the advance of a 6000 strong force of Pakistani tribal raiders near Uri for five days along with Lt. Colnel Diwan Ranjit Roy (MVC) and Somnath Sharma(PVC). He appealed to the JKUT government to generate a mechanism to celebrate this holy occasion in all schools like 15th August and 26th January to embrace the students with the sanctity of accession of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh with the Union of India. Above all Arun Gupta a stationer cum social worker disbursed note books to all students voluntarily to encourage the students to participate in such type of patriotic events.
