Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 26: Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson and former Vice Chairman Balbir Ram Rattan said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has made historic progress in the field of health and medical education over the past 11 years. He stated that in 2014, the country had 387 medical colleges, while today the number has increased to 819. This achievement clearly indicates that India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance in the medical sector. This growth has not only created new opportunities for youth but has also strengthened access to quality healthcare services in every corner of the country.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that before 2014, the framework of medical education was limited, which resulted in weak healthcare facilities in rural and remote areas. However, the Modi government took concrete steps to change this situation. The central government prioritized medical education, focusing on establishing new medical colleges, expanding AIIMS institutions, and developing modern health infrastructure. As a result, India is today establishing a strong global identity in the field of medical education and healthcare services.
He further said that the Modi government has ensured that every state and UT in the country have access to quality medical education and healthcare services. The establishment of new medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir has given local youth the opportunity to become doctors in their own region. This has not only strengthened the education sector but also opened new avenues for employment generation.
Balbir Ram Rattan stated that by realizing Prime Minister Modi's mantra of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas" (Together with all, development for all, trust of all), the government has implemented reforms in the health sector that have significantly improved the quality of life of ordinary citizens. The strengthening of primary health centres in rural India and the expansion of medical institutions are proof that this government does not merely make announcements, but is committed to bringing real change on the ground.
He expressed confidence that in the coming years, India will emerge as a global hub for medical education and healthcare services, and in the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam" (the world is one family), it will benefit the global community through its excellent medical services.
