| Health Of Citizens | | | Improving the health sector has been the government’s priority. The efforts that were put in during the past decade are paying dividends. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a private hospital reiterated that the government’s goal is to make India a developed nation by 2047 and a healthy populace is paramount for it. “Every step, every policy, and every effort of our government is dedicated to uplifting the poor, the underprivileged, and the rural population. We believe that India’s true empowerment lies in the health of its citizens,” the Defence Minister said. The number of undergraduate medical seats in India have risen from 51,000 to 1.29 lakh and that of postgraduate seats from 31,000 to 78,000. The number of medical colleges in the country has gone up from 387 to 819 in the last 11 years. According to the official data the country has made considerable progress in maternal and child health, with the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) declining from 130 to 88 and the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) from 39 to 27. TB incidence in India has dropped by 17.7 per cent, more than twice the global rate of 8.3 per cent. As India strides confidently toward its goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047, the health of its citizens will remain the bedrock of this vision. A strong, healthy, and productive population is not just a social necessity—it is an economic imperative. The government’s sustained focus on improving health infrastructure, expanding medical education, and ensuring equitable access to healthcare is setting the foundation for a robust and resilient nation. In essence, India’s journey toward a developed future will be measured not merely by its economic strength, but by the well-being of its people—and in that regard, the nation is moving firmly in the right direction. The news policies of the Centre have led to the country getting more and more doctors. Young MBBS graduates and post graduates are keenly serving the people in every nook and corner of the country. Health Centres in far flung areas are serving as the important points for treating the rural people. Every effort is being put to ensure that no one remains deprived of healthcare and gets all the possible assistance. The aim seems clear that the government wants to ensure that no one is left out and every citizen gets equal facilities. |
