Thousands of students and professionals from our country turn abroad every year to fulfill their desire for better education, higher living standards. However, many developed countries have put up barriers. Nevertheless, talented young people who want to pursue a career abroad can make this dream come true as long as their goals are clear and they start planning ahead.
In today’s global age, millions of Indian youth dream to pursue a career abroad. While many Western countries, including the US, have put up a variety of obstacles for Indian youth in recent years, those who are talented and aiming to pursue careers abroad can still make it possible today provided that their goals are already clear and they start out well. Thousands of Indian students and professionals seeking better education, higher standard of living travel abroad every year. Know how to prepare it systematically and in stages:
The goal is clear
If you want to pursue a career abroad, the goal should be clear and certain. You should be clear in which field to pursue a career abroad during your 10+2 studies. Want to go directly through the job or research work, decide. However, students who are interested in technology or science should keep Germany, Canada and the US as their priorities. France, Italy and Japan are good options for students who want to pursue careers in areas related to art, design or culture. Turn to England, Australia and Ireland if you want a career in the medical and health sectors. It should start in 11th grade. If you are an employee, plan it two years in advance to meet your language, degree and documentation needs.
Build a strong foundation
A career abroad not only requires a degree, but also great capital. So there is a minimum qualification for working or studying in every country. GRE or GMAT is required if you want to get a Masters or PhD in the US. Entry is based on IELTS and TOEFL scores in Canada and Australia. While it is mandatory for engineering or science students in Germany to pass the B.1, B.2 level German language exam That’s where companies rely on skills these days. So skills like coding, data analytics, design, digital marketing, project management and language knowledge are essential. You can customize your profile to international criteria by taking online certification courses on platforms such as LinkedIn Learning, Corseera.
Hold on to the language
If you want to pursue a career in English-speaking countries such as the US, Australia, Canada and England, good knowledge of English is essential. If you want to pursue a career in countries like Germany, France and Japan, it is essential to be proficient in the local languages. So prepare for a good grasp of the language from 45 minutes to an hour every day for about two and a half years. Listening to foreign news, broadcasts and interviews on social media is beneficial. Start during the 10th and 11th.
Visa rule information
Each country has its own visa rules. Students in Canada, Australia and New Zealand can also easily obtain permanent residency here. While countries like the US and Japan take a strict stance on permanent residency. So decide beforehand whether your real goal is to settle permanently abroad or just for a job and then work on the next plan based on that.
Preparation of documents and finances
You can’t fulfill your dream of going abroad without complete documentation and necessary finances. You must have a valid passport There should also be all kinds of educational certificates, bank statements i.e. proof of funds You should have a certificate of experience and the first three months’ expenses if you are going for work In addition, language score, police clearance and medical certificate are also essential. Study abroad usually costs Rs.15 to 20 lakh per year You must have Rs.30 to 50 lakh in your accounts With the goal of going abroad under an education loan or scholarship program, all details are essential.
Mental preparation
You should know everything about the lifestyle, time management, social norms and work culture in the country you are going to pursue so that after arriving there you don’t have to be plagued by linguistic problems and lifestyle challenges. Finally, practice camera and communication skills for online interviews and arrange health insurance, your residence and international SIM cards etc.
