CHANDIGARH, Oct 27: 50 NCC (Army Wing) cadets from Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women participated in the Annual Training Camp (ATC-179) held from 15th to 26th October 2025 at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sector 25, Chandigarh, under the aegis of the 1 Chandigarh Girls Battalion, NCC, and brought laurels to the institution. The camp brought together around 323 cadets from various colleges across Chandigarh. The MCM cadets brought laurels to the institution by winning the Company Trophy, the Sports Trophy, and the Firing Trophy, a testament to their exceptional performance, teamwork, and leadership. The ten-day camp offered a rich blend of physical and intellectual training. Cadets underwent intensive sessions on physical training, weapon handling, CPR, map reading, and life skills, along with engaging in cultural, literary, and sports competitions. The camp also included nukkad nataks on water conservation and breast cancer awareness, visits to the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram and Sukhna Lake, as well as vibrant celebrations of Diwali and the patriotic initiative "Ek Diya Desh Ke Naam." Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma congratulated the cadets and commended the NCC Unit for its outstanding accomplishments. She highlighted that such training camps, organised under the 1 Chandigarh Girls Battalion, play a vital role in nation-building by nurturing qualities of discipline, confidence, and patriotism among young women, empowering them to serve the nation with commitment and pride. |
