SRINAGAR, Oct 27: In the ongoing Assembly session in Srinagar today, MLA Poonch, Ajaz Ahmed Jan, raised a serious concern regarding the undue delay in the release of scholarships for Pahari Scheduled Tribe (ST) students. He said that despite repeated representations, the scholarships have not been released, causing severe distress to students whose school and college sessions are nearing closure.
Jan remarked that it appears there are conspiracies and deliberate negligence against Pahari ST students, who are now forced to move from office to office seeking justice. He urged the Government to release the scholarships immediately.
He further informed that yesterday a large number of students from Poonch, Mendhar, Surankot, Kalakot, Rajouri, Dharal Budhal, and Thana Mandi met him and raised this issue. The delegation was led by Thakur Yashu Vardhan Singh, Waqar Lone, Mukhtar Rathoor, Parvinder Singh, Zameer Qureshi, Waqar Mir, Vivek Sharma, Matul-ul-Rehman Mir, Abhisheikh Sharma, Vishal Sharma, Abid Magray, Abdul Razak, Ishaq Sheikh, Ishaq Khan, Khurshid Shah, and others.
Jan demanded that the Government immediately intervene and ensure justice for all Pahari ST students. |
