Thannamandi, Oct 28: Govt. Degree College Thannamandi organized an Awareness program cum pledge on Vigilance Awareness to observe the Vigilance Awareness Week here on Monday. On the inaugural day, the College hosted an awareness program on the theme “Vigilance: our shared responsibility” under the patronage of Prof. (Dr.) Farooq Ahmed, Principal of College. Dr. Nazakat Hussain, Co-ordinator IQAC in College presided over the function whereas Dr. Nazar Ul Islam, Head Department of Islamic Studies in College co-ordinated the program. The program started with the pledge on Vigilance awareness and saying no to corruption in all spheres of life. Dr. Ashaq Malik who was resource person on the occasion, spoke at length on the theme and how collectively we can fight out corruption from society by promoting integrity, transparency and accountability at all levels. Dr. Nazakat Hussain underlined the need of changing oneself to bring real change at grassroot level and leading a corruption-free society. Earlier, Dr. Nazar Ul Islam, introduced the audience about the essence of observing the vigilance awareness week, and briefed about series of activities to be organized by college like poster making, essay writing, quiz competition and seminar besides rally and signature campaign on this year’s theme. Prof. Supriya Gupta, Head Department of Computer Science presented the formal vote of thanks. A large number of students and all the staff members participated in this impressive program.
