Chandigarh, Oct 28: The Personality Development Cell and Equal Opportunity Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an interactive session titled ‘Sharpen Your Interpersonal Skills and Soar on the Path to Success’. The session featured Mr. Arun Bhatia, Vice President, SIEC, as the resource person. Mr. Bhatia engaged students in a stimulating discussion on upskilling and the evolving global professional landscape. He noted that in today’s world, “access to knowledge is no longer a differentiator”, emphasising that success now depends on how effectively one can apply and communicate that knowledge. Drawing upon global industry trends, he highlighted the skills most valued by employers and shared practical strategies to develop them. Encouraging students to embrace AI and automation, Mr. Bhatia underlined the simultaneous importance of mental well-being, sustainability, and interdisciplinary digital fluency. He outlined a set of core interpersonal and professional competencies, including effective communication and storytelling, intercultural competence, creativity and innovation, data literacy, and critical thinking, as key attributes for thriving in a rapidly changing global environment. He further discussed the transformation of traditional career paths, observing that modern universities are emerging as career ecosystems integrating research, global perspectives, and industry partnerships to equip students for dynamic and diverse career trajectories.
