Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: Government GLDM Degree College, Hiranagar, in collaboration with the District Police Kathua, organized a Symposium on the Life and Legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel to commemorate his 150th Birth Anniversary. The event was held under the able guidance of Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College, with the active support of SHO Hiranagar, Mr. Ashish Sharma, and the initiative of Prof. Rakesh Sharma, NSS Advisory Member, and Prof. Shapia Shameem, NSS Programme Officer, along with the concerted efforts of other faculty members. The theme of the symposium, "Rashtriya Ekta - Unity in Diversity," reflected the spirit of national integration championed by Sardar Patel. The programme commenced with a welcome address, followed by an inspiring speech by the Principal, Dr. Pragya Khanna, who emphasized the relevance of unity and integrity in nation-building. Around 110 students participated in the event, with 12 student speakers eloquently expressing their views on Sardar Patel's contributions to the unification of India and his enduring legacy as the "Iron Man of India." In his concluding address, SHO Hiranagar, Mr. Ashish Sharma, highlighted the importance of Rashtriya Ekta in maintaining peace and social harmony. The event successfully fostered a sense of patriotism and unity among the students, resonating with the ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. |
