Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages organised a special literary programme titled "Ik Malati", ( Meet the Author) with eminent Dogri writer Dhyan Singh, at K. L. Saigal Hall, Writers' Club, Jammu. The event marked the release of five books authored by Shri Dhyan Singh, which were jointly released by Padma Shri Narsingh Dev Jamwal, Padma Mohan Singh, Prof. Sushma Sharma (Head, Department of Dogri, University of Jammu), Jang Bahadur Singh (former Principal and District & Sessions Judge), Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn (former Additional Secretary, , Dr. Javaid Rahi (Divisional Head, JKAACL Jammu), and Reeta Khadyal (Editor, Dogri). In his welcome address, Dr. Javaid Rahi said that main objective of this programme is to document the life and Work of eminent writers. He said Dhyan Singh has authored 65 books that inspire the younger generation to connect with their linguistic and cultural roots. Dr. Ashok Khajuria, noted Dogri writer and poet, presented a research paper on the life and literary contributions of Shri Dhyan Singh, while Shagufta Choudhary, Dogri research scholar, presented an introductory paper on the five books released. Earlier, Dhyan Singh was felicitated with a shawl and memento by Padma Shri Narsingh Dev Jamwal, Shri Lalit Gupta (eminent historian), Dr. Javaid Rahi, and Reeta Khadyal. While interacting with the audience, Shri Dhyan Singh shared his creative experiences, expressing gratitude to the Academy and literary fraternity for their encouragement and support throughout his writing journey. The event was attended by a large gathering of eminent writers, poets, scholars, and literature lovers who lauded Dhyan Singh's lifelong contribution to Dogri literature and his unwavering commitment to the preservation and promotion of regional art and culture. The programme concluded with words of appreciation for Dhyan Singh's remarkable literary journey. The proceedings were ably conducted by Reeta Khadyal, Editor Dogri, who also presented the vote of thanks. |
