Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 28: In a major crackdown on illegal gambling, the Jhajjar kotli Police late last night apprehended nine persons who were found indulging in gambling activities with cards and dice during routine patrolling duty. During the raid, stake money (Tigdi) amounting to ?1,07,180 was recovered from the gambling spot along with playing cards and dice. Upon conducting personal searches of the accused, the police also recovered an additional ?2,97,300 in cash, bringing the total seizure to ?4,04,480. In addition to the cash, the police also seized four vehicles that were parked at the spot and belonged to the accused persons. The vehicles include: Volkswagen Polo (Registration No. HR26BJ 4544). Hyundai Creta (Registration No.JK02DJ 0025). Mahindra XUV (Registration No.JK20 6566). Audi A4 (Registration No. JK02CJ 0063). They all have been booked under Section 13 of the Gambling Act. Police have reiterated their commitment to act tough against illegal gambling and other unlawful activities in the area.
