| DYAG’s murder case | | HC directs Dy SP to file status report | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May14- In a petition regarding murder of Ajit Singh Dogra, the then Advocate General, Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Jammu Wing today, directed Pritam Singh Jamwal Deputy Superintendent of Police Jammu to submit the status report about the investigation of the case and also issued notice to respondents with the direction to registry to list the case in the week following next. This direction was issued in a petition filed by one Jagdish Chander uncle of the deceased Deputy Advocate General Ajit Singh Dogra who was attacked by the assailants on January 10, 2008 and shot at point blank range near his house. Later on he succumbed to the injuries. The Domana police after investigation filed the charge-sheet in the Court of CJM Jammu on March 14, 2008 u/s 302/341/147/149/34 RPC r/w section 4/25 Arms Act against accused persons namely Vishal Sharma alias Vishu, Ashok Kumar alias Shoka, Amrish Khajuria alias Max, Labha Ram alias Sanjay, Raj Kumar alias Raju, Gourav Sharma alias Dana and Mohan Singh alias Mona. During the course of arguments Advocate BS Salathia submitted that some flaws were noticed in the investigation by then SSP Jammu as the name of an influential business man though figured during investigation but was not included in the charge-sheet. The investigation reopened for further investigation, case was assigned to Deputy SP Pritam Singh Jamwal. It was submitted that petitioner being the uncle of the deceased firmly believes in fair and impartial investigation to be carried out by the police. After recording of statements of witnesses, the petitioner approached Dy SP number of times in order to know about the latest position arising out of the investigation being carried out by Pritam Singh Jamwal but the fate of the investigation is not yet known. Advocate BS Salathia appearing for the petitioners prayed before the Court seeking direction to Dy SP to file status report of the investigation of the case tiled State Vs Vishal Sharma & Ors before the High Court.
