| Prestigious Australian ‘Endeavour Executive Award’ for Dr. Adit Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 14- Dr Adit Gupta, Joint Director Model Institute of Education & Research (MIER) has received the prestigious ‘Endeavour Executive Award’ of the Australian Government for the year 2009. The Endeavour Executive Awards provide professional development opportunities for high achievers in business, industry, education or government. The Endeavour Awards are the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing high-achieving individuals with a unique opportunity to undertake study, research or professional development. The Endeavour Awards enable collaboration in areas of shared interest between the people of Australia and the region. In doing so, the Awards aim to develop mutual understanding and foster enduring linkages between individuals, organizations and countries. This award would enable Dr Gupta to pursue teaching and research activities in his area of specialization with Australian Government sponsorship. He would be visiting Curtin University of Technology, Perth for a period of 3 months from June to August 2009 in this regard. Earlier he had studied at the same university to earn his Doctorate degree in the area of Learning Environments. The management and the faculty of the entire MIER group have congratulated Dr Adit Gupta for this exceptional achievement and honour. Dr. Adit Gupta is a talented young educationist with 15 years of teaching and administrative experience. He has carved a niche for himself as an academician in a short span of time. His work in the area of technology supported learning environments and ICT based teaching and learning techniques has been widely appreciated. Dr Gupta has brought changes in the teaching learning process at the school level and in the area of teacher education by introducing innovative teaching strategies, activity based learning methods, modern classroom management techniques etc. and is emerging as an inspiring and guiding force for the teaching fraternity. He is also an astute administrator and as the Joint Director of MIER Group of Institutions, is effectively contributing towards the growth of the institute in terms of developing a globally competitive policy framework. He is widely traveled and has attended a number of national and International conferences, workshops and seminars wherein he has presented research papers. He has also been an alumnus of the International Visitors Leadership Programme of US Government for studying the system of primary and secondary education in United States.
