| Comprehensive health check-up camp at Home for the Aged, Infirm, Jammu | | |  early times report
Jammu, Nov 2: The Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, in collaboration with Care and Cure (CNC) Nursing Home, Jammu, organized a Free Medical Health Check-up Camp for the elderly residents of The Home for the Aged & Infirm (Vridh Ashram), Ambphalla, Jammu. As a part of its Extension and Outreach initiative aimed at promoting health, care, and compassion among the elderly residents, the camp sought to provide essential medical check-ups, health consultations, and wellness guidance to support the overall well-being and quality of life of the inmates. The Medical team was led by Dr. Adeeb Singh (Urologist), who conducted urological consultations and guided the elderly on urinary and renal health issues commonly faced in old age. Dr. Sukanya Gupta (Plastic Surgeon) provided general surgical consultations and carried out examinations related to post-operative care, wound management, and preventive health screening. They were accompanied by Mr. Dharminder Singh (CORONA Remedies), who extended generous support by providing free medicines and healthcare products to the inmates. Ms. Gurleen Kour (Member) and Mr. Pankaj Jamwal (Member) actively participated in organizing and assisting the medical sessions, ensuring smooth coordination throughout the camp. The visit was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. (Dr.) Jeevan Jyoti, Head, Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, and Prof. (Dr.) Tarsem Lal, Co-ordinator, Outreach and Extension Programme, Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, who commended the efforts of the medical team and encouraged the youth to take inspiration from such socially relevant initiatives. A team of Scholars from the Department of Commerce, including Mr. Dheeraj, Mr. Deepak, Mr. Ankit, and Mr. Vinay, also accompanied the professors. They extended their support in organizing the event, interacting warmly with the elderly, and assisting the medical staff during consultations. The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Dinesh Gupta, Hony. Secretary, Home for the Aged & Infirm, along with Mr. Satpal Sharma and Mr. R. C. Vaid, Managing Committee Members, Dr. Rajinder Thappa and S.Rajinder Singh, Life Members. The management expressed sincere gratitude to the Department of Commerce, University of Jammu, and Care and Cure Nursing Home for their invaluable contribution toward the health and happiness of the residents. The inmates expressed heartfelt appreciation for the care and attention received during the camp, which not only addressed their health needs but also filled their day with compassion, positivity, and human connection. Such initiatives reaffirm the spirit of service, empathy, and community engagement - proving that care, when combined with compassion, truly cures beyond medicine.
