                    | Two day seminar on Community Policing organizes by SKPA Udhampur |   |   |   early times report
  Udhampur, Nov 3: A two-day seminar on “Community Policing” was organized at the Sher-I-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur, aimed at sensitizing police officers towards fostering stronger community relations and enhancing public trust in policing. A total of 23 police officers from different wings of the Jammu and Kashmir Police participated in the seminar. The seminar was inaugurated by Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, Dy. Director (Indoor/Trgs) who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Shri Gupta emphasized the crucial role of community engagement in modern policing and highlighted how collaborative efforts between the police and public can contribute to maintaining peace, order, and mutual trust in society. The seminar deliberated upon several key topics, including: Community Policing – Its Importance and Need of the Millennium Police Station as the Basic Unit of Access to Develop Police-Community Relations Counselling and Mediation as a Tool of Grievance Redressal at Police Stations vis-à-vis Strengthening Community Relations Police-Community Relationship for a Better Society Participation in Policing to Minimize the Gap and Build Trust Fundamentals of Public Outreach The programme is being coordinated by Shri Amit Parkash Sehgal, Sr.PO assisted by HC Balbir Singh member faculty.
