Early Times Report

Waknaghat, Nov 3: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, organized a One-Day Skill Development Workshop on Intelligent Quadruped Robotics under the Drobotics Lab initiative on 31st October 2025. The workshop aimed to introduce the newly procured Unitree Go2 Edu U4 Quadruped Robot by the University, a cutting-edge robotic platform designed for education and research in intelligent systems, autonomous navigation, and AI-integrated robotics.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Shweta Pandit on behalf of the ECE Department, highlighting the vision behind the Drobotics Lab — an advanced initiative aimed at fostering innovation, research, and experiential learning in drones, robotics, and artificial intelligence. The lab stands as a testament to the visionary leadership of Hon’ble CEO Shri Manu Bhasker Ji, whose constant encouragement has enabled the establishment of such futuristic facilities at JUIT.
The department extended sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Dean (Academics) Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Gupta, Registrar and Dean of Students Brig. R. K. Sharma (Retd.), Dean (Research & Internationalization) Prof. (Dr.) Sudhir Kumar, HoD ECE Prof. Rajiv Kumar, HoD CSE Prof. Vivek Sehgal, and Associate Dean (Innovation) Prof. Shruti Jain for their continued guidance and support. Special appreciation was also expressed for Dr. Vikas Baghel, for his instrumental role in proposing and establishing the lab.
The workshop featured Mr. Emroz Sardar, CEO of AirOne Robotics and former CTO of Maverick Drones, as the resource person. He delivered insightful sessions on the Unitree Go2 Edu U4 Quadruped Robot, focusing on its technical features, research potential, and AI integration capabilities. Participants had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the installation, operation, and demonstration of the robotic platform.
The sessions were interactive and informative, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and inspiring participants to explore new frontiers in intelligent robotics and automation. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Vikas Baghel, Dr. Emjee Puthooran, Dr. Shweta Pandit and Dr. Aman Sharma and concluded with positive feedback from all attendees, marking yet another successful academic event at JUIT.
