| HC stays selection process of 4 ReT posts for Poonch distt | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 14 : Jammu and Kashmir High Court today stayed the selection process on four posts of Rehbar-e-Taleem in Poonch district, where Chief Education Officer (CEO) had invited application for filling of posts of ReTs in various upgraded schools across the district. “It is provided that application of the applicants may be entertained by the respondents. It is further provided that no appointment shall be made in respect of four posts”, Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar of Jammu wing directed in an interim order passed in a writ petition filed by four aspirants of ReT posts in Poonch district. In the writ petition, filed through Firdous A Tak and Muhammad Saleem Malik, advocates, the petitioners alleged that the advertisement issued by the respondents contravenes the earlier orders of the department under which the schools were upgraded across Poonch district. It was submitted that the CEO Poonch, who is also Chairman Sarva Siksha Abhiyan has issued an advertisement notice CEOP/ssa/545-56 dated April 18, 2009 inviting applications from aspiring candidates for the appointment as ReT at the schools upgraded during the year 2007-08 and 2008-09. As per the conditions, the petitioners submitted, only the candidates having science subjects at the time of passing the 10+2 examination are eligible to apply for the UPS upgraded during the year 2008-09, while those all candidates having basic qualification of 10+2 are eligible to apply in the schools upgraded in 2007-08. It was claimed that the up-gradation of the schools was done vide two orders No CEOP/SSA/7268-78 and CEOP/SSA/379-409. The respondents, so as to benefit some blue eyed candidates, have changed the plan year in the advertisement notice thus disqualifying some of the candidates to apply for the posts, the petitioner claimed. The petition further says that some of the schools which were upgraded in the year 2007-08 have been shown in the advertisement notice as having been upgraded in the year 2008-09 and similarly is the case for some of the schools upgraded in the year 2008-09. The change in the up gradation year in the advertisement notice, the petitioner stated, has been deliberately done only to benefit some blue-eyed and undeserving candidates.
