Jammu, Nov 5: FICCI FLO Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh (JKL) Chapter organized two impactful awareness sessions on “Digital Safety Decoded – Protecting Yourself in the Age of Cyber Threats” at Army Public School, Udhampur, in collaboration with AWWA (Army Women’s Welfare Association), and at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Jammu. The sessions were conducted by renowned National Cyber Security Expert Dr. Rakshit Tandon, accompanied by Ms. Reshma Patel, National Head, Digital Skilling Vertical, FICCI FLO. The initiative aimed to spread awareness on responsible digital usage and online safety—a crucial subject in today’s age of growing cybercrimes and data exploitation. The interactive sessions covered key topics including Cyber Hygiene and Digital Diet, Social Media – Threats and Securities, Protecting Digital Identity, Redressal and Cyber Laws, Safe Online Shopping, and Digital Footprints and Trails. Addressing an enthusiastic audience comprising students, teachers, and members of AWWA, Dr. Rakshit Tandon emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and vigilance in the digital space. He shared real-life examples of cyber frauds and online abuse and discussed practical measures to safeguard one’s digital presence. His engaging session, marked by relatable insights and interactive storytelling, resonated strongly with the youth and educators alike. FICCI FLO JKL Immediate Past Chairperson & Jt. Director MIET, Mrs. Ruchika Gupta, while welcoming the guests, shared that FLO JKL has been continuously working on social causes and awareness programs impacting women, youth, and communities at large. She emphasized that cyber safety has now become a fundamental life skill, and such initiatives are crucial for building a responsible and informed digital generation. Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, Mrs. Aarti Chowdhary extended her heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Shinei Sharma, Regional President AWWA, Northern Command, Udhampur, for always extending collaborative support to FLO JKL Chapter and welcoming their initiatives to be executed in partnership with AWWA. She further expressed her appreciation to Dr. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET, for facilitating and supporting the conduct of the session at MIET, Jammu. The event at Army Public School, Udhampur, was graced by Mrs. Kavita Rekhi and Mrs. Prerna Chodha, Chairpersons of the Regional AWWA Committee, along with Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Principal, APS Udhampur. Their presence added great encouragement to the participants and reinforced the collaborative spirit between FLO JKL and AWWA. The sessions were also attended by Ms. Varuna Anand, Past Chairperson FLO JKL and National Head, Partnerships and Collaborations, FICCI FLO; Ms. Rupika Sahai (Vice Chairperson); Ms. Nandita Bajaj (Executive Secretary); Ms. Shipra Agarwal (Joint Treasurer); and FLO JKL member Ms. Ritu Gupta, who extended their active support in organizing the sessions. Both sessions witnessed overwhelming participation and enthusiasm from students and faculty. The awareness drive successfully instilled a strong sense of responsibility toward digital citizenship, underlining the urgent need for online safety and ethical digital behavior. The visit of Dr. Rakshit Tandon and Ms. Reshma Patel to Jammu marked an important step in FICCI FLO JKL’s ongoing commitment to promoting digital awareness, safety, and empowerment across the region.
