Vijaypur, Nov 8: As part of the celebrations of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur organized an insightful Quiz Competition on Tribal Life aimed at fostering awareness and appreciation of India’s rich tribal heritage and culture. The event was coordinated by the Prof. Manoj Heer(Assistant Professor,Department of Dogri) & Prof Mrs. Sonia Devi (Lecturer,Department of Hindi) .The quiz sought to highlight the diverse traditions, lifestyles, and contributions of tribal communities across India, in line with the spirit of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, celebrated every year on November 15 to honor the legacy of tribal leader Birsa Munda and the invaluable role of tribal communities in the nation’s history. Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, demonstrating keen interest and knowledge about tribal life, culture, and history. The competition comprised multiple rounds testing participants’ understanding of tribal customs, art forms, freedom movements, and contemporary issues faced by tribal communities. Students from different departments participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their knowledge and understanding of India’s tribal heritage. After a series of closely contested rounds, the following students emerged as winners: • First Position: Shravan Mathur, Tanish & Rishi • Second Position: Ruhi, Ritika & Akriti • Third Position: Arif, Lalit & Kartik The program concluded with a vote of thanks by comprising Prof. Anita Jamwal(Associate Professor, Dept. of Political Science), who expressed gratitude to the staff, students for making the event a success. The whole programme was coordinated by Prof. Mrs Sonia Devi (Lecturer, Dept. of Hindi) and all the faculty & Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (Associate Professor, Dept. of Sociology), Prof Meetu Sharma (Assistant Professor, Dept. of Geography), Dr. Pooja Gupta(Lecturer, Dept. of Commerce), Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal (Lecturer, Dept. of Education), Prof Dr.Anoop Singh (Lecturer, Dept. of History) ,Prof. Mrs Manisha Bharti (Lecturer, Dept. of Computer Applications) also graced the occasion.
