Jammu, Nov. 8: GGM Science College, Jammu, emerged victorious in the Inter-Collegiate Weight Lifting (Men & Women) Competition for the session 2025–2026.
In the Men’s section, Gold medals were won by Ansh Sharma, Adil Ali Zakir, Mohd. Vaseem, Piyush Manhas, and Harpreet Singh, while Silver medals were secured by Ashutosh Goter and Aaditya Kumar.
In the Women’s section, Gold medals were bagged by Simran Kumari, Archita Verma, and Khushi Kalotra, and Silver medals went to Saloni Devi and Bhumika Thakur.
Principal Dr. (Prof.) Romesh Kumar Gupta congratulated the winning teams for their outstanding performance and lauded their dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship. He said that the students’ success is a matter of immense pride for the college and reflects the institution’s strong commitment to excellence in both academics and sports.
Dr. Gupta also extended heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma (I/C Physical Director), Prof. Kiran Bala (Sports Incharge, Weightlifting Men’s & Women’s Teams), and Dr. Bilal Ahmed Malla (P.T.I.) for their continuous mentorship and efforts in promoting a culture of fitness and competition within the campus.
Principal Dr. Gupta remarked that such achievements inspire others to pursue excellence beyond academics, fostering a spirit of holistic growth among students.
