Jammu, Nov 8: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Cyber Security Cell of Government Degree College, Bishnah, successfully concluded the Three-Day Workshop on “Cyber Security” on November 8, 2025. The final day’s proceedings focused on the theme “Cyber Crime Investigation and Preventive Measures,” highlighting practical insights into the detection, reporting, and prevention of cybercrimes. The session began with a welcome address by Dr. Koushal Kiran, Head, Department of Urdu, who greeted the distinguished resource person, dignitaries, and participants. The resource person for the day, Inspector Bhupinder Singh Sasan, currently posted as an Investigating Officer at the Cyber Police Station, Jammu, delivered a comprehensive and thought-provoking lecture on the various dimensions of cyber-crime investigation. Drawing from his professional experience, Inspector Sasan elaborated on real-life cases of cyber fraud, social media misuse, phishing, and online financial scams. Inspector Sasan also discussed the functioning of cyber police units, the legal framework governing cyber-crimes. His practical examples and interactive engagement with the audience offered valuable takeaways for both students and faculty. A key highlight of the day was the participation of students from Boys Higher Secondary School, Bishnah, and students and faculty from Dogra Degree College, Jammu who were specially invited to attend the workshop and gain exposure to the fundamentals of cyber safety and ethical online practices. Their enthusiastic involvement added vibrancy and depth to the concluding session. The workshop was held under the able guidance of Dr. Shally Samyal, Principal, GDC Bishnah, who commended the collective efforts of the IQAC and Cyber Security Cell for organizing a highly relevant and impactful academic initiative. Dr. Ashma Gupta, Convenor, Cyber Security Cell, coordinated the three-day event effectively, ensuring active participation and meaningful learning outcomes. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Shrotika Rajpur, IQAC Convenor, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, organizing committee, and participants for making the workshop a grand success. The Three-Day Workshop on Cyber Security empowered students and faculty with crucial knowledge about safe digital practices, ethical online conduct, and the mechanisms of cyber crime prevention—aligning with the college’s ongoing commitment to promoting digital literacy and responsible citizenship.
