| Workshop on "Sustainable Crop Residue Management for Climate Resilient Agriculture" organised at Guru Nanak Dev University | | | AMRITSAR, Nov 11: One-day workshop on "Sustainable Crop Residue Management for Climate Resilient Agriculture" was organised by the Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (GJCEI) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture. The inaugural session was graced by Dr Balwinder Singh, Coordionator of GJCEI. In his address, he emphasized the importance of adopting innovative and eco-friendly methods for managing crop residues, which are crucial for ensuring environmental sustainability and improving farm productivity. Dr Aparna Bhatia Deputy coordinator of GJCEI also dignified the event by her presence. Dr. Sandeep Singh, Principal Agronomist shared valuable insights on climate change and its impact on Punjab's agriculture. Dr. Bikramjit Singh, Associate Director enlighten the participants by expressing their experience on status of farmers and role of machinery in reducing residue burning. Dr. Raminder Kaur delivered expert lectures sustainable residue management technologies in Amritsar District. The event coordinator Dr Amarinder Singh Riar welcomed the dignitaries and participants, while expressing gratitude to the university administration and the Department of Agriculture for their support in organizing the event. The workshop concluded with an interactive session along with demonstration of residue management by using smartsuperseder in agricultural farm of the university. The program ended with a vote of thanks to all speakers, participants, and organizing members for their active contribution. |
