| One year term for illegal arm | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May15- For possessing arms illegally, the City Judge Jammu Kusoom Pandita today awarded one year rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 1000 to accused Om Sharma u/s 4/25 Arms Act and also issued General Arrest Warrants u/s 512 Cr PC against Vihsal Joshi from whom country made pistol (Katta) and two live cartridge of 12 bores was recovered.
Senior Prosecuting officer Rajesh Bakshi who appeared in this case for the police department submitted that on June 11, 1999 at Shakti Nagar two boys coming from Rajpura side after seeing the police party fled away. Police followed them and on apprehending both the boys they disclosed their names as Vishal Joshi and Om Parkash, on their search, police recovered one country made pistol and two live cartridge of 12 Bore from the possession of Vishal Joshi and one kirch from the possession of Om Sharma and a case u/s 4/25 /3/25 Arms Act was registered against both the accused. Both the accused were on bail. The accused Vishal Joshi absented himself from the proceedings upon which the Court ordered proceedings u/s 512 Cr PC against Vishal Joshi. JNF
