| SSP Samba interacts with VDGs members at DPL Samba | | |  early times report
Samba, Nov 12, 2025: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba today chaired an interaction meeting with members of the Village Defence Groups (VDGs) of the district at District Police Lines (DPL) Samba. The meeting was organized with the primary objective of sensitizing VDGs members about the prevailing security scenario and briefing them on their duties and responsibilities. The chairing officer emphasized the vital role of the VDGs in ensuring peace and security in their respective areas and highlighted the importance of maintaining close coordination with the Police and nearby Security Forces. While addressing the meeting, SSP said that the weapon handling and weapon firing practices of the VDGs members are being conducted regularly for their proper training and familiarization with firearms to enhance their operational readiness and effectiveness in maintaining security in the areas. He instructed the concerned police officers for more such sessions of weapon handling and weapon firing practices for the VDGs. It was further stressed in the meeting for the importance of synergy and collaboration between VDGs members and Police units, stating that such coordination significantly strengthens collective efforts in ensuring public safety. SSP directed the Police Officers present on the occasion, including Addl.SP, SDPOs, SHOs, and Incharges of Police Posts, to conduct frequent briefings of VDGs members within their jurisdictions and to ensure their effective liaison with the nearby Security Forces also. Later, an interactive session was held, during which VDGs members raised several points and suggestions to which chairing officer patiently heard and provided on-the-spot resolutions to their satisfaction. |
